Lake Louise, Banff National Park





This is Lake Louise as you have probably never seen it. Usually the water is that glacial blue-green, but not when I was there. It was 2:00 p.m., and the sun that was warm and bright in Banff had hidden itself behind the mountain on the left. The water was calm, the air was not too cold, and I experienced this as a place of peace and spectacular beauty. If you look at the distant mountains in the back of this picture, there are glaciers which create precipices and whose meltings empty into Lake Louise. My next picture was of one of those glaciers.

Your picture is beautiful. I would like to see more of the snow and the red grass tucked into the right hand corner of the photo...it's a pristine picture of early winter.
