Tulips

In this small watercolor, I attempted to be a lot looser than my usual style. I also let the painting be "done" with very little detail work...an exercise in restraint! There were parts of this process that I enjoyed, but it would take quite a bit of discipline for me to pursue this simpler result in watercolor as I am afraid I am a bit of a control freak. (Never thought I would admit to that on a blog!!!)
If you are interested in purchasing this painting, or commissioning something similar, please contact me.

Wow! What a dose of colour and sunshine. I love the looseness of this piece - I hope you explore this kind of thing further!

Beautiful. :)

Joanne, I love the composition, the movement and colors, I can't think of any thing you could do to it to make it better!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement to continue with this avenue of exploration in watercolor! Your comments spur me on...so there will be other "loose" watercolors on the horizon.
