Bold Colors in "Fiesta Pears"

One of the things I strive for in my artwork is to create bold colors. Visually, I am drawn to paintings that are bright and that create a statement, and that is what I want in my paintings as well. For me, it's all about light, and how it is reflected off of the surfaces of the items in the painting.

"Fiesta Pears" is just that- a bright, bold, and festive transparent watercolor painting!

The platter that the pears are on is just beautiful. I received it from my daughter-in-law and son for Christmas, and it is really a fabulous size. I actually had 12 pears in rows on the platter, but chose to only do 9 for the painting which is 11 x 15 inches in size.

If you are interested in purchasing this painting, or in commissioning a similar painting which would suit your color preferences, please contact me at jogiesbrecht@gmail.com

I love the dynamics of the platter being offset in the composition and of course, the vibrant colour.

Awesome stuff.
