Rhino - a watercolor completed!

RHINO
22" x 30"
original watercolor on Arches 140 lb. paper

Well, here he is in all his glory! I am soooo done with this painting. He has  waayyyyy toooo much texture which has taken a very loooong time to paint! But he was definitely worth it!

But now that he is complete, I am very pleased with the way he has turned out. In fact, I've become quite attached to him! I've begun to think of him as quite good looking. I can relate quite well to the story of Beauty and the Beast - not that I am a beauty, but I guess when one is comparing to Rhino...

Anyhoo... here is Rhino - straight from the San Diego Zoo!

If you are interested in purchasing this painting, contact me: jogiesbrecht@gmail.com. He is very expensive (think I'll price him out at approximate per pound rate! Anyone know how much these beasts weigh???). Ha! Ha!

He's wonderful! The texture is really something, but I am captivated by the perfect background. I don't think you could have chosen a better way to make him stand out without making him seem disconnected from it! Fantastic work!

This is so beautiful! I always joke that i only became a photographer because I was never any good at painting or drawing - especially when I see images like this! :p so lovely!

Leesia,
The reason you are not a painter is that you were BORN to be a photographer!!! Your photos are absolutely stunning... and they make me smile from ear to ear every single time I see them!
Thanks for your visit and the kind comments. Have a wonderful week!
