Mayan Riviera

I have just returned from a week away in one of the most spectacular spots I've ever been to - the Mayan Riviera. I cannot believe how phenomenal  the color of the water is - and how every day is sunny, hot, picture perfect! I always wondered about the color Viridian, and why it was such an intense green - and when would you ever use it? Well, now I know. That is the color of the water I saw in this area of the Yucatan Peninsula. Viridian Green, and Ultramarine Blue. Amazing!
At the resort where we stayed, they had built a lagoon so that you could enjoy the water without having to fight the incoming waves, which were large. The fish could come in and out of the lagoon as well - and the water was absolutely crystal clear.  I stood still in the water, and they swam around my feet...such a great experience! Here you can see a couple of the types that were in the lagoon. I'll post more pictures for you to see later this week.

Hi LeeAnn,
It is indeed a spectacularly beautiful place, and the climate is absolutely perfect! We were at a resort down the coast from Cancun, close to Tulum. Most everyone at the resort spoke very good English, so I didn't have to use much of my limited Spanish. A very good experience.
