STAGES 2 AND 3

Well - I was able to work on this painting a bit, and get it to what I am calling Stage 3. I have placed the darkest shadows and most of the midtones which begins to shape the petals of the lily. In this perspective, you can see deep into the bowl of the flower, and the light creates a glow where the petals meet the stem. Of course, this is all just underpainting - covering the canvas. None-the-less, it does tend to cause me to become excited at the potential finished look of the painting. I can already see it shaping up!

WHITE LILY

White Lily
original acrylic 16" x 16"
$400

I began White Lily some time ago, but many things came between me and it: sibling vacation, sick husband, babysitting grandchildren, garden...you get the picture, I'm sure. However, little by little I worked on it, and now today, it has been completed. Yay!  I am so glad it is done. Now I can sleep at night instead of hearing it calling to me. :-)

WHITE FLOWER - still in progress

It is still a work-in-progress, but I thought you might like to see how it is coming along. I think it is going to be very dramatic when all is said and done!
