Signs of Spring at last...

On Mother's Day, my husband and I traveled to the mountains which are just over an hour away from our home.  There was still some ice on the Vermillion Lakes, and the temperatures were fairly cool, but signs of spring were all around. These pussy willows were so beautiful with the backlit effect that I had to take a picture of them. My vegetable garden is now planted, and I have cleaned up my flower beds of leaves and old branches. This week it has rained/been cloudy most days, which has watered my garden and made the grass  green. I am so grateful for the beauty that surrounds me. What an amazing country I live in!

Spring is Coming - Pink Poppy

Today is 9 degrees Celsius! The snow is just disappearing in a flash - and the softness in the air encourages me that spring is coming! Only another 6 weeks or so and the worst of winter should be behind us. I can hardly wait to see my pink poppies, green leaves on trees, grass waving in the wind - so much to look forward to. This photo is to remind us all of what waits around the corner. Enjoy!
