The Wonder of Sydney

While at my son's wedding, Sydney was fascinated by things she could see outside, through the window. Capturing her wonder at all the new sights in a painting keeps the memory of that special day alive for me. At the time, Sydney was the only grandchild I had. Now I have 5 grandchildren - all 6 years old and under. Sydney is the only girl!

You can tell this is a watercolour from a mile away! Beautifully done.

Reflections are such a tricky thing to paint and you've managed to do it skillfully and also give the viewer that double view of cute little Sydney.

Thanks, Michelle! I am intrigued by reflections and how they differ when reflecting on a shiny surface, an opaque surface and moving surfaces like water.

I really like how you've given the viewer an extra hint of your subject by using your reflection wisely (on an angle)

I think you've captured Sydney very well. I should know. I'm her mother.
