Published Photographer!

It finally came - the very last day of the year, Dec. 31st, 2008. And now that I see it, I really believe it - I am a published photographer! My photograph, Misty Mountain, is published in the book, "Best of Photography, 2008".

When I see all of the other photos that made it into Best of Photography 2008, published by Photographer's Forum, I am very humbled to be included with these amazing artists from around the world. I have made one of my goals for 2009 to again enter another photography contest with one of the photos I may yet shoot, or one of the ones I have sitting on my computer which I have not put on my web or blog. Did I tell you that I love photography??? Almost as much as painting! - which I now must get back to so that some of my other goals for 2009 will be realized. :-)

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by my blog this year. Thank you to all of you who made comments. You have encouraged me to try things I would never have dreamed of on my own! I am optimistic that 2009 will bring opportunities and experiences greater than 2008 - and I am excited to continue to develop and grow as an artist.

Happy New Year everyone!

You are amazing. This past year has been such a huge one on your artistic journey - I believe that this is just the platform that you will jump off and soar from in 2009.

You are a great artist and wonderful friend. I'm lucky to know you!

Thanks, Michelle! I am optimistically anticipating good things for both of us this year... it is great to have you as my advisor and #1 encourager. And better than that, to have you as a friend - amazing!

Hi Alvin,

Thanks for your kind words... *blush*!

I hope that 2009 is more than and better than you can imagine for you and yours.

I don't think that people know your work is unedited, Mom. The colors you capture, the photos themselves are as you see them. Most photographers spend as much time editing their pictures as they do taking them, if not more, but you shoot, then post. That takes a real natural gift.

Thanks, Kim, for reminding me of how many photographers make their work look better through editing. That is one of the parts of my photography I want to pick up and learn this year. I think that it will improve the subject matter that much more, and perhaps move me into a different category with my pictures. I am blessed to have a good camera, and so many opportunities to capture moments that many people never see! I do love it! :-)
