Jury Duty

Lemon Tea
original watercolor
- sold

Last October I entered a huge art show, the RockPointe Fine Arts Event. More than 80 painters, jewelers, potters and photographers entered the show - which ran for only one day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Three of my paintings were in that show (Lemon Tea was one of them), which was great exposure for me. (All of those paintings have sold since the show!) There were hundreds of people who came through in the course of the day. It was a really excellent event.

Last week, to my surprise and honor, I was asked to jury the art for this year's show! Of course, I said "yes!"

I am so grateful for the opportunities which are coming my way where I can use my skills and passion together. I am really excited to work with the team putting this show together for the second year in a row. I know it will be an even bigger event than last year, now that the word has spread about how great it was!

I loved this painting. Now someone with taste and vision can enjoy owning it. The shadow play and treatment of the blue and white check is great.
This is the kind of jury duty you would never want to miss.
Congratulations on the sale Joanne.

Thanks, Bonnie! I decided that this was something I needed to ensure time for, even if I had to give up something else! :-)
