A New Work

Boats on canvas

This is a new work I am about to begin. When we were on Gabriola Island back in November, 2010, we saw these boats pulled up on the bank which was covered with fallen leaves in many beautiful colors, and a couple of huge stones. I think this will be a great painting as the boats are in red, blue, and white. I have sketched the boats in pencil and then gone over them in a new type of marker I am trying out. It is supposed to eventually "disappear" into the paint, but keep your lines visible long enough for you to get your edges, etc. So often with pencil, the graphite smudges, especially if I am painting with white, so we'll see what happens with this marker...
