Have you ever watched crows? I mean, just sat and watched them? I was sitting on a beach recently, when this crow flew up and sat on a nearby piece of driftwood and watched ME! It didn't matter if I was still or not, it followed my every move and didn't fly away. Soooo, I did what any artist would do - pulled out my phone and took a few pictures. And now he is sitting on top of a piece of driftwood in a venetian plaster painting which is done on a deep profile birch wood support. I love dripping the plaster over the sides - they become a point of interest in an of themselves! I love the high contrast of colors in this painting. I think it's a little gem!
