HARLEY

Harley
original 9" x 12" pencil portrait

I have an incredibly busy week ahead of me with appointments and meetings. As well, 3 of my garden beds still need to be cleaned up from winter, and a vegetable garden planted. AND, we have company arriving today for a few days! All that to say I won't be posting again until the end of the week.
This pencil portrait is a "replacement". I did a portrait of Harley for his parents about 2 years ago when I knew very little about shading and working in pencil. I really wanted to replace the original for them, so this is the same pose, but done with my new understanding of representing the form in portrait. I hope they agree it is much better than the original! :-)

The Thinker

The Thinker
original pastel painting

I don't know why, but I think that little boys in great hats are so very sweet looking! My son loves to wear different hats, and so do his sons. This is one of my grandsons, with his new hat on. He was sitting on the floor playing, and his mom took several photos of him. This is a rendition of one of the photos...I just love how it turned out!
