Sketchbook Page

While we were in Saskatchewan for my father-in-law's funeral, I had a bit of time where I picked up my sketchbook again - after a number of years. It is amazing to me that with only paper, pencil and an eraser, a person can create something that looks lifelike! Now I admit that I am very, very rusty... but it was great to spend a few hours working with pencil and thinking how shading in pencil relates to painting. I want to spend more of my "down time" just doodling and playing with pencil and paper. It certainly was enjoyable, and quite relaxing - no pressure, no work... only fun.

It's a long weekend here in Alberta. I hope you are all having a relaxing and wonderful time with your friends and family. Summer is flying past!

My condolences about your father-in-law. May he rest in peace.

Your sketches look terrific. More, please. ;-)

Hi Paz,
Thanks for the kind thoughts. It was a long battle with Parkinson's for him, but he is at last free from pain. How are you doing? It's been a while since we last "talked"... I'll have to e-mail you to catch up!
